This workshop is build around a topic of choice. The children will be supported to create their very own puppets out of recyclable things. The school can support to collect recycled goods or I can provide this. This can be discussed art a later date.
1/2 Day
This is a 3 hour session either morning or afternoon. Breaks are scheduled into the workshop. We start with a show and tell about puppets that I will bring with me. We then look at the topic or story chosen. We will identify materials and give example of how we can put them together.
We will spend the rest of the time creating our own puppets.
Full Day
This session starts the same with puppet show and tell. At this stage the children will get to play and try to puppeteer themselves with direction. We then move on to the topic or story. We go through the materials and show examples of how we could use them. We discuss the story further and consider how we might play this out.
We are then get stuck into making the puppets which we will complete before putting together a small play which we will perform to teachers and peers if requested.
